Q: I've heard that flies are bad from a hygienic point of view. Why is this?- A:The answer to that question lies in the fly’s mode of life.
As you can see from the diagram below, flies grow to adulthood and feed in areas that are extremely unhygienic for humans. This means that their bodies, in particular their feet, are covered with pathogenic microbes.

Flies lay eggs in places that can serve as food for larvae, including excrement and rubbish.
Once hatched, the larvae grow by feeding on nearby food.
4-10 Days: Larvae shed their skin two times before becoming a chrysalis
4-11 Days: Reach adulthood
